Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz says she undergoes a rigorous exercise routine to stay healthy and not to keep her structure skinny.

"Exercise for me is like eating, sleeping, and breathing. I'm consistent and when I'm not consistent, it shows up on my body. I get really skinny and I know it might sound like, 'Well, good for you.'

Newly and privately wed Dhoni and Sakshi Rawat were invited to New Zealand for their honeymoon by the tourism board of Queenstown.

Suresh Kalmadi, Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman is sure that the security measures taken up are highly looked up.

Kalmadi said, "Good progress was being made on the preparations front for the Games and assured the delegates that all arrangements to ensure a safe Games were being made."

He added, "All venues are world class and would be completed well in time."

The Oscar and Golden Globe awards winner A.R.Rahaman has denied the rumour of Rahaman to work with Usher and Dido in his next album.He will be working with them for his next project.

From London Rahamn said, "I will be collaborating with Usher and Dido but it is not for my next album, as everyone is saying. It is for some other project, the details of which I can’t reveal yet."

LAMHAA NOT TO BE SCREENED IN SRINAGAR

Lamhaa starring Sanjay Dutt,Bipasha Basu and Kunal kapoor will not be screened in Srinagar as the government of Jammu and Kashmir has denied the permission in fear that the separatists may object to holding any functions in aid of Lamhaa, a film about the plight of Kashmiris caught in midst of the paramilitary forces and the separatists.

Producer Bunty Walia did not even dream that this situation would come to him.Large part of the film was shoot in Kashmir.

When contacted Walia fo confirmation he said, “Yes, I was told by the J & K officials that they could not allow me to hold a premiere of Lamhaa in Srinagar as they expected a backlash from the separatists.”

It was scheduled by the producer to have a grand premiere at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium in Srinagar.Walia was very concerned about having a premier in Srinagar as major part of the film was shoot in Jammu and Kashmir.

He has also invited the whole bollywood field for the premier.

Walia angrily said, “The director of Lamhaa, Rahul Dholakia, stayed in Srinagar for six months to work on this film. It is sad that we are not allowed to kick start our film in Srinagar, which is a part of India. My beard has grown white while making this film. It has been an uphill task. This is definitely not done.”

BIG BUDGET MOVIES TURN EVEN BIGGER FLOPS

Trust of the audience over the film to be a blockbuster is being broken when it comes to bollywood.Pre-publicity and creating hype over the film is very much prevailing in the bolly industry.

This is going not going to last for long time.Celebrities craze and the promos which are being screened in television could not save the industry from loss anymore.

If the half yearly report is taken into consideration the bollywood industry has lost Rs 300 crores and still counting.125 films have hit the screen in the past 6 months but only Prakash Jha's 'Rajneeti' has been declared as blockbuster as it has gained over 77 crores.

The biggest budget release of the year Kites and Raavan has failed to reach the expectation of viewers.

During the publicity of 'Raavan' Abhishek said, “The media finds us attractive and people say the film will benefit because of this (pairing). But that’s not our motivation.”

“The way Raavan was hyped, considering it has a mythological background, the movie was far removed from the subject. Hence people felt cheated,” says a trade analyst.

It was 2010's start with Salman khan starrer 'Veer' which was expected to clear the records of 3 idiots but didn't live up to the mark.

Ad whiz Santosh Desai.“At the end of the day, a film is a product that needs to be sold. But whether the product is good enough to sustain for weeks is judged by the audience. The same goes for the movies. If they are good enough the audience will keep coming, if not they reject it outright.”

Kites starring Hrithik Roshan and Barbara sank down leaving no trace .

“Movies are excessively being treated like products that need to be sold with hyper marketing strategies, the situation is scary, as most of the recently released films are not even recovering their publicity money,” says producer Mehul Kumar.

“The Hindi film industry has failed in two counts. Firstly the content, and secondly, the pricing. Huge sums of money is paid to the stars and the films too are sold for big money. It becomes difficult to recover it at the BO and not even hype can save it,” says trade analyst Komal Nahta.

Audience are much wary about the upcoming releases, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Khatta Meetha, Aisha, Action Replayy and Lafangey Parindey.

Nahta says, “Just because Kites and Raavan failed, it doesn’t mean other big releases will meet the same fate,” says Nahta.

NEIL QUITS SMOKING

Neil Nitin Mukesh has decided to give up his smoking habit realising the harm caused due to nicotine levels and to avoid getting back into the habit, Neil has gifted hookah sets to his close friends.

Neil hasn't smoked a single cigarette from the past two months.

A friend of Neil says, "Neil wasn’t a chain smoker but was quite addicted to the habit. Recently when he realised that the levels of nicotine had increased in his blood, the actor immediately decided to quit smoking. It has been more than two months that the actor has given up the habit. Neil has so far managed to live without smoking."

He added, "Neil has gifted hookahs to his group of friends who smoke. He has done this to refrain from passive smoking."

This will also help their friends to get rid of their smoking habit and at the same time Neil doesn't even see any cigarettes around him.

When Neil was questioned, he laughed and said, "Yes I have quit smoking and have bought hookahs for friends so that they don’t smoke near me."

A source of the film said, “Konkona Sen is doing a guest appearance in the film. She plays a pivotal role where she forms the link between Priyanka’s character and her two consecutive husbands. Konkona is a very crucial link in each of the two relationships Priyanka has in the film.Konkona shot for a span of two days in Pondicherry but didn’t share any screen space with the lead actress, Priyanka.”

The source adds, “Konkona’s role is very small but adds substance to Priyanka’s character. Konkona plays a character who each one of us is bound to empathise with. Vishal sir always had Konkona in mind for this role. PRIYADARSHAN TO WORK WITH AJAY DEVGAN AND VIDYA BALAN

Priyadarshan's bad luck this time as no buyers came forward to buy his project which was to star Prateik Babbar and other new comers.Priyan had this idea in his mind earlier and thought to produce Imran Khan and Ranbir kapoor together as fresh faces together.

Besides this project, Priyan has opted another multi starrer film with popular stars this time.

"It'll star Ajay Devgn, Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty... It's a thriller and not a comedy! That's the exciting part. It's the first time I'm trying my hands at a thriller," said Priyan.

"I'll make it in my own time and with my own money, if no one's willing to finance it. These are the types of films that give you immense job satisfaction," added Priyan about the backlog.

AKKI IS KIND HEARTED

Priyan says, “Most people seem to think that Akshay is mercenary and only talks money.”Priyan has done six films with Akki.

Priyan added saying, “Akshay was yet to receive a big part of his remuneration, when I realised that the producer was facing a money crunch. I asked Akki to let go of the rest of his remuneration. And he did so without a moment’s hesitation. I hold Akshay in high esteem because of this one incident. Honestly, who lets go of money without even a single question asked?"

SAIF OR RANBIR, WHOM TO CHOOSE??

Apart from Kareena's link with Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, they both have another factor in common i.e, their relationship with director Siddarth Anand.He is now in a dilemma of chosing one among the two for his upcoming films.

It is learnt that both Ranbir and Saif are pretty close to Siddarth.

A source said, “Saif and Siddharth Anand were quite a team. And Saif had many ideas about how they could collaborate further. Then Siddharth’s family friend and childhood -buddy Ranbir came into the picture. Even Ranbir and Siddharth’s parents are friends. In fact the two are so close that Ranbir broke his one-film-onedirector rule and did two films with him.”

Siddarth is close to Saif as well as Ranbir which is making tougher to take decisions.

“After doing one film with Ranbir, Siddharth wanted to cast Saif and Ranbir together in the film to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. But that didn’t work out. Siddharth instead ended up making Anjaana Anjaani with Ranbir and Priyanka for Sajid,” said a source.

Siddarth has already scripted third film for Ranbir Kapoor but, a moral obligation gravitates Siddharth towards another film with Saif.

Siddarth says, “Yes, working with Ranbir is addictive. Once you work with him you want to work over and over again. But Saif is also a favourite, and he’s also a close friend. So yes, I’m doing a film with Saif early next year, followed by another film with Ranbir.”

He added, "working with Ranbir is addictive."

Siddarth is caught in perennial dilemma.Both saif and Ranbir are his close friends but the pair wont hit the screen together.

KANGNA IS ALWAYS PUNCTUAL

Kangana Ranaut is different from other stars.Director Milan Lutharia says that if Kangna is called for an 8 am shift she’s there arrives at least an hour earlier.

Recently the lightmen and the unit of 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbai' were shocked when Kangna’s car drove into the studio simultaneously with the light trucks.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently confirmed that his home, the iconic Krishna Raj bungalow that has been a landmark in the Pali Hill neighbourhood for decades, will be razed and in its place will come up a 14-storey structure that will house his parents on the lower three floors and him on the uppermost three.

"Mumbai doesn’t have such a complex and detailed plan, and there is no scope to expand unlike Delhi. There’s a lot of pressure on Mumbai since it’s a commercial centre," Says A G K Menon, convenor, INTACH, Delhi.

However, Sanjiv Srivastava, senior vice-president, National Real Estate Development Council, Delhi, maintains, "Villas and bungalows should not be allowed simply because these consume more land and help very few people."

Explains Kolkata-based architect Anjan Mitra, "People are bypassing laws and the municipal corporation isn’t helpful." With absolutely no heritage regulation, the situation is graver in the garden city of Bangalore. Says INTACH’s Satyaprakash Varanasi, "Bangalore has become a city of immigrants who lack pride in heritage buildings."

Sharada Dwivedi, well-known historian who has managed to restore a few heritage sites in Mumbai, says, "Temptations are far too high. The owners of privately-owned heritage bungalows should be provided incentives for preservation."

1,700 PIRATED COPIES OF RAAVAN SEIZED

Mani Ratnam's Raavan has created a hype in New Zealand .New Zealand customs have seized 1,700 pirated copies preventing an Auckland-based Indian video hire business from hijacking the release of the film.

Raavan had its premier on June 18th,grossed $60,000 on its opening weekend in New Zealand, the third highest for a Bollywood movie in the past year, according to a Bollywood movie in he past year.

The lawyer acting for the film’s distributor, Claire Tompkins of intellectual property law firm James and Wells, said her client received an anonymous tip-off about the shipment arriving on the film’s opening weekend on June 18.

She filed a Copyright Customs Notice that allowed customs frontline officers to be on the lookout and detain any pirated copies coming in. This resulted in the shipment being found and held that weekend.

DHONI TIED THE KNOT EARLIER BECAUSE OF ASTROLOGICAL REASONS

Newly and very privately married Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni tied the knot with Sakshi Singh Rawat.He was not to tie up this year, but astrological consideration led to rescheduling.

BIG B TO SPEAK MALAYALAM IN KANDAHAR

Do you think that Amitabh Bachchan is familiar of many languages??? Well he's not.

Amitabh left to ooty for shooting of Kandahar starring Mohanlal.The film has him playing a North Indian who marries a Malayali women.Hence, he was not needed to speak malayalam which made him to sign up for the film.

But the director of the film, Major ravi informed BIG B that he needs to speak Malayalam in the film.

Amitabh who is not certain of acting in regional films protested the director's decision which didn't last for a long time.He recalled speaking one line in Kannada when he made an appearance in a film called 'Amrithdhare'.

Bachchan says, " This film was different. I play a North Indian man married to a Malayali woman. So, speaking a bit of the language was natural for the character. Malayalam is a tough language for me. But I managed."

"Earlier, I did Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag with Mohanlal. But this time I got to know him better. He’s a humble, multifaceted human being," he added.

ASIN SAY'S NO TO POLITICS IN FILM INDUSTRY

Asin speaking to BT Colombo said, "I’m truly upset that certain political groups in Tamil Nadu are targetting me for my decision to shoot a film in Sri Lanka."

Asin questioned, “How can I be targetted for this decision? Ready was supposed to be shot in Mauritius, Thailand and then, Goa. Till a few days before the shoot, I didn’t even know the final destination. When I heard it was Sri Lanka, I did express my concern to the producer and the director. While they understood my predicament, they too couldn’t change the shooting location because things had already been planned."

The actress, who has further shoots in Tamil Nadu for her film kaavalkaran with Vijay is much worried about facing certain political parties over there.“Art should not be politicised and actors shouldn’t be made to bear the brunt of political animosity because we are truly ambassadors of peace. I’m making an effort to reach out to the troubled Tamil community in Sri Lanka; and I think by being in their midst, I’m bringing a smile to their faces. I just hope others see this as a peace-building exercise,” she said.

Asin added that actors aren’t the only ones who are trying to build bridges. “On an average, there are six flights connecting Chennai to Colombo every day. Our cricket team visits Lanka, too. Then why is it that when an actor comes to shoot in Sri Lanka, people start some kind of propaganda?” asked the actress.
